What we can help you with

  • check_circleSupport with your account or with publishing a property.
  • check_circlePayments, listing credits and professional subscriptions.
  • check_circleReporting a listing that looks fraudulent or breaks the rules.
  • check_circleSuggestions, press and partnership inquiries.

What to include in your message

We answer faster when the first message already has enough context. Whatever the topic, it helps to tell us:

  • check_circleThe email address of the account, if the question is about your account. We never ask for your password, and we will never ask for it by email.
  • check_circleThe full URL of the listing or the page you are writing about — copy it from the address bar.
  • check_circleWhat you expected to happen and what happened instead, with the date and time if it was an error.
  • check_circleThe device and browser you were using, and a screenshot if the problem is visual.

Reporting a listing

Reports are the main way we catch listings that should not be on the site. We review every one of them and answer the person who sent it.

  1. 1Send us the listing URL and describe what looks wrong: a price that makes no sense, photos taken from another site, a seller who asks for money before you have seen the property, or a home that is not legally transferable.
  2. 2If you have already been in contact with the advertiser, keep the messages: they usually explain more than the listing itself.
  3. 3We check the listing against the documentation the advertiser gave us and, when the report is founded, we take it down and block the account. If it is not, we tell you why we left it up.
  4. 4If money has already changed hands, report it to the Cuban authorities as well. We can remove a listing; we cannot recover a payment.

What we cannot do

CubanPortal is a publishing platform, not a party to your transaction. Being clear about that saves everyone time:

  • infoWe do not act as a real estate agency, a notary or a legal representative, and we do not draft or review your deed.
  • infoWe do not hold money, documents or keys, and we do not mediate payments between buyer and seller. Any payment you make is between you and the other party.
  • infoWe do not verify the legal status of every property. Verification of ownership and of the right to transfer happens at the notary office, with the original documents in front of you.
  • infoWe cannot give you a binding valuation of a home. The calculator and the market pages show reference figures taken from listings, not appraisals.

Your question may already be answered

Most of the messages we get are about the same handful of subjects: which documents are needed, how a permuta works, how to buy from abroad, and how to spot a scam. We wrote a guide for each of them.
